Aunt Bonnie made this cake for Dad McGuire’s birthday in 2011. It is simple, but very good. It also made a great cake for Adrian’s 14th birthday. Serve with ice cream, whipped cream or a glass of milk!
The recipes calls for a 9×13 pan. If you prefer use two round cake pans. Be sure to grease and flour the pans well.
Ingredients
- 2 (1 oz each) squares chocolate melted
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cup flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tsp salt
- favorite frosting or icing optional

Instructions
- Melt chocolate in butter. Cool.
- Cream sugar and butter mixture.
- Add eggs, vanilla and milk.
- Measure flour and sift with salt and baking soda.
- Add to chocolate mixture.
- Pour over one cup boiling water and mix well.
- Pour into a greased and cocoa powdered 9x13 inch pan.
- Bake 375 degrees for 22 minutes.
