Instructions
  1. Remove husks and wash tomatillos.
  2. On large baking sheet, roast tomatillos and jalapeno under very hot broiler 5 minutes.
  3. They will blacken in spots.
  4. Flip and roast additional 5 minutes.
  5. Cool slightly before transferring to food processor or blender with all the juices.
  6. Add garlic and process until smooth.
  7. Heat oil in saucepan until very hot.
  8. Add puree all at once and stir until thicker and darker, about 5 minutes.
  9. Add 2 cups broth and simmer over medium heat until thick enough to coat spoon heavily, about 10 minutes.
  10. Season with salt to taste.
