We experimented with the mix recipe, then Megan made her “famous” iced chai. This is good hot, but it is very good iced.
Ingredients
- 4 tsp ground ginger
- 4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tsp ground cloves
- 2 tsp ground cardamom
- 1 1/2 tsp nutmeg freshly ground
- 1 tsp ground allspice
- 1/4 tsp white pepper optional
- 3 c instant non fat powdered milk
- 2 1/2 c powdered creamer
- 2-4 c vanilla sugar or plain granulated
- 3 c instant unsweetened tea we prefer Lipton
Servings: lot
Instructions
- Combine spices and blend till fine in coffee grinder or food processor.
- Mix remaining ingredients in large bowl then add spices.
- Using food processor, blend mix in one cup increments until a fine powder.
- Store in glass air tight container.
For a hot drink
- Add 2-3 tablespoon mix to large cup.
- Stir in 8 oz of hot milk.
For iced chai
- Use ice setting if you have, add iced drink ingredients to blender
- Blend until ice is crushed and ingredients are well blended
- Top with your favorite whipped cream and chocolate curls if desired
Recipe Notes
Start with the lesser amount of sugar and add to your desired sweetness. We usually make ours somewhere between 2 and 3 cups.
