We used regular, uncooked lasagna noodles and this turned out very well.
Ingredients
- 1 pkg lasagna noodles 16 oz
Cheese layer
- 24 oz 4% cottage cheese
- 2 c ricotta cheese
- 1 Tbl onion powder to taste
- 1 Tbl garlic powder to taste
- 1 Tbl parsley to taste
- 1 Tbl dried basil to taste
- 1 Tbl dried oregano to taste
Meat layer
- 1 pound hamburger
- 1 pound bulk sausage
Additional ingredients
- 2-3 c mozzarella cheese
- 1 c cheddar cheese optional
- 2 jars favorite spaghetti sauce we used homemade
Optional ingredients
- 1 c mushrooms diced and lightly cooked

Instructions
- Line a pan with tin foil.
- Combine ricotta cheese with cottage cheese.
- Add spices and combine well.
- Cook hamburger and sausage.
- Drain well before seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Start with sauce and layer dry noodles, meat, cottage cheese and mozzarella cheese.
- Make three layers, ending with mozzarella cheese.
- Cover pan with tin foil and freeze.
- Defrost in fridge overnight if desired, then set at room temperature while oven preheats.
- Add additional sauce to top if desired.
- To bake, tent a large piece of tinfoil over top to help it cook uniformly.
- Place in 350 degree oven for an hour or until cooked through. (Will depend if frozen or thawed)
