What we used in our Yakisoba dish.
Ingredients
- 4 tsp Sichuan peppercorns*
- 10 whole star anise
- 1 tsp whole cloves
- 2 Tbl whole fennel seeds
- 2 Tbl ground cinnamon
Servings: cup
Instructions
- Toast the peppercorns, star anise, cloves, and fennel in a toaster oven or a dry pan until fragrant and aromatic
- Blend the toasted spices in a spice/coffee grinder
- Stir in the cinnamon
- Pour into an airtight container
- Use in many Chinese, Japanese, or other south-eastern Asian dishes

*Also known as Chinese peppercorns, use regular peppercorn if you do not have.
