“Spicy Texas Trash” Chex Mix

Oma made this mix from a recipe that Aunt Judy gave her. The recipe makes a lot, so cut in half if needed.

Box sizes are approximate, adjust as needed.

Rye Bagel Chips

Instead of buying our normal bagel chips, we attempted to make our own. We made our simple bagel recipe replacing the whole wheat flour with rye flour. We should have added some molasses for color. Then we cut the cooked bagels into thin slices and dehydrated. Easy! The hard part is keeping the kids away from snacking on them.

Brisket, Smoked

This is not an exact recipe, but it is a great starting point.

Breakfast Sausage, Boerewors Version

You do not want these dry, but they can be very greasy depending on what meat you use. Use lower fat meats if possible. Or, drain meat well before serving.

Lasagna (Frozen)

We used regular, uncooked lasagna noodles and this turned out very well.

Chicken Shawarma

A recipe Adrian discovered and adapted. Great on salad or with flat bread and shredded vegetables.
