We wanted to find a good recipe for breakfast sausage that did not contain sugar. This one is simple and freezes very well.
The optional ingredients will change this from a mild recipe to a spicy one.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground pork not super fatty
- 2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp granulated garlic
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper optional, to taste
- 1 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes optional, to taste
Servings: 2 oz balls
Instructions
- Flatten ground pork on cookie sheet, sprinkle spices evenly over top.
- Combine all ingredients well.
- Using a 1/4 cup measuring cup, form into 2 oz balls.
- Cook over medium heat until cooked through.
Recipe Notes
Optional: Replace half the pork with hamburger.
These freeze well.
