Ingredients
- 2 large eggs
- 1 c sugar
- 2-4 Tbl molasses
- 1/2 c unsalted butter melted and cooled
- 1 Tbl flour unbleached
- 1 Tbl milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 c chopped pecans
- 1 8 or 9 inch unbaked pie shell favorite
- pecan halves to decorate top if desired
Servings: pie
Instructions
- Pre bake pie shell for 10 minutes and let cool if desired.
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
- Whisk eggs in a large bowl until foamy.
- Whisk in melted butter before whisking in sugar, molasses, and flour until well combined.
- Add milk and vanilla, then stir in pecans.
- Pour mixture into the pie shell and decorate the top with pecan halves.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
- Reduce heat to 350 degrees F and continue to bake until filling is set, 25 to 40 more minutes.
- Remove from the oven and cool to room temperature before serving.
- Serve with whipped cream if desired.
