Tongass Forest Cookies

I was reading a book about Alaska that mentioned these cookies. This is a combination of a few different recipes I found and us changing it a little.

If using sweetened coconut, reduce sugar!

Sourdough Bagel

Start with your favorite sourdough that is fed and active. You can make these in one day if you start early enough, but they are best when the dough is allowed to sit overnight. These are easy to customize also!

Monster Cookies (GF)

A simple oatmeal cookie without any flour. Be sure to check your oats if you need them to gluten free.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

A soft, cake like cookie. This is a very sweet cookie, so reduce sugar if desired. While mini chocolate chips are preferred, I think these are best with a mix of dark chocolate and milk chocolate chips.

Macadamia Nut Cookies

The white chocolate chips make these a super sweet cookie, so we reduced the sugar by over a half cup. According to our taste testers, these are the the perfect sweetness.

(Hint: While these are great cookies, Momma prefers with part chocolate chips)

Andrea’s Cupcakes with Buttercream Frosting

These are a nice, soft cupcake. Many who taste them say they are the “best” cupcakes they have ever had. She has also had a few people who do not like cupcakes compliment them and eat more than one.

Valentine Popcorn

The first time Andrea made this was for a Valentine’s day soccer game treat. Thus, “Valentine Popcorn”. Though Megan insisted it was Princess corn.

Molasses Cookies

A favorite, special cookie our neighbor, Marilyn shares with us over the holidays. The recipe is slightly vague, but if you have made cookies before, adjusting the amount of flour to your preference is easy. I kept the recipe mostly as written, because that is part of its charm.
