Ingredients
Favorite stew or soup
1/2
c
cornmeal
3/4
c
flour unbleached

tsp
baking powder
1/2
tsp
salt
1
Tbl
butter
1
egg
1/3
c
milk
Instructions
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
Cut in butter.
Beat together egg and milk.
Combine all ingredients until just blended.
Drop teaspoonfuls of batter onto hot, not boiling stew, or chili or thick soup.
Cover pan and simmer dumplings about 20 minutes.
Serve while still hot.
