Instructions
  1. Melt shortening in large skillet.
  2. Brown meat on all sides.
  3. Stir in boullion, 1 1/2 cups water, juice, soy sauce, onion and garlic salt.
  4. Heat to boiling.
  5. Reduce heat, cover and simmer until meat is tender, about an hour.
  6. Blend remaining water and cornstarch and gradually stir into meat mixture until it thickens and boils.
  7. Boil and stir one minute.
  8. Serve over rice.

One of the first date meals Allan made for me.  Recipe from Mom McGuire 2006

Crock pot version: Combine first 7 ingredients in crock pot and cook on low till meat is tender (all day).

Add cornstarch and water mixture and let boil to thicken one minute before serving.
